If they have an exclamation point or question mark, right-click Choose Update Driver and try the automatic options in the Hardware Update Wizard. If it still doesn't connect to the Hardware, check to see if the drivers for your Digidesign Hardware are listed in the Device Manager.
Then choose Finish Try to launch Pro Tools again,. Select your driver from the list, and choose Next. Choose all of the LAST options available to you from the Hardware Wizard ("Install from a list or specific location", then "Don't search. Right-click it and choose Update Driver. Locate your Digidesign Hardware in the list. Click on the plus next to Sound, Video, & Game Controllers. Right-click My Computer and choose Manage. Have you posted this information on the Audio forums? I would post to the Pro Tools LE, MP & M-Powered Systems forums which are located here. But maybe someone else here has some better answers for you than I do. It definitely sounds like your problems are beyond the scope of the free help people can get here. You also may have to pay for software now and if the MBox is broken, you may have to pay for a repair (the MBox is likely not going to be covered under warranty.)ĭepending on where you live you may be able to find an experienced Pro Tools engineer or consultant who you can pay to help get you up and running. You are probably going to have to call AVID when you are in front of the machine, and pay for support. 
Whatever money you spent at the pawn shop on this thing is now wasted, becuase you haven't been able to use it and you can't get any help for it. Most of the time an AVID dealer will get you at least up and running with the thing, and being a new owner gets you access to the latest software and a hardware warranty. It's a complex hardware/software combination that requires a certain level of support. I don't want to pour salt in a wound, but an MBox is not the kind of thing (no matter how much money you think you saved) that you buy in a pawn shop. I have a feeling that your at a point where you are probably going to have to pay for support, and possibly pay for a repair.
